How Does the School Model Function?

The proposed school will operate as a distance education charter high school using a structured hybrid model. Instruction will be delivered primarily online (asynchronously) through a Moodle learning management system, with teacher-created curriculum aligned to Nevada Academic Content Standards and career and technical education pathways.

Students will be required to attend campus one day per week for three hours, scheduled Monday through Wednesday in either a morning (8:00–11:00 a.m.) or afternoon (12:00–3:00 p.m.) session, with the remainder of coursework completed remotely. Students demonstrating consistent academic progress (and a 2.5 gpa requirement) may participate in a flex option, allowing them to work fully remotely unless academic intervention is required; however, this is not an option for students in 9th grade. We will also have an academic lab open Mondays – Thursdays for students who need to come in for extra help.

Students may also enroll in courses directly through the College of Southern Nevada as part of their individualized academic and post-secondary plans. Students enrolled in Career and Technical Education, Advanced Placement or dual credit classes will attend in-person instruction and support on Thursdays.
